Secrets, the Album by Julia Simone

Welcome my first music project, Secrets.

Secrets was written during a time where everything in my life came crumbling down all at once.

Through the loss of a friend, ending a relationship, the global pandemic, sexual assault, and the ups and downs of learning how to speak up for myself, this album is a tribute on how I came to deal.

The music entwines soulful melodies with traditional rhythms, jazzy instrumentals, with popular sounds.

There have been too many incredible collaborators that are working with me behind the scenes to bring our sound to life. Some of our collaborators include Fafiélla and Batambora. Written and produced in Canada, the US and Colombia, this album explores the depths of what it means to live, love and grieve in all facets of being human. Get ready for a sensual, soulful experience.

Thank you for your support, love, and for being here for the ride.

Asked For It

Have you ever had your boundaries crossed? Asked for It is a witty pop anthem that begs us to reclaim our power, and demand what we deserve.

Pray

What happens when we have no one to tell our secrets to? I have always found solace in mother nature, as a force to be reckoned with. I discovered that by sitting with mother nature and sharing with her your deepest secrets helps you and those around you heal.

Listen to the acoustic version for some deep introspection.

Listen to the remix to hear the voice of Abuela Maria-Luise, from the Wiwas Indigenous Community of Colombia.

Goodbye

Sometimes, even the best things come to an end. How do you let go after holding on for so long?
